What is GDPR Compliance

GDPR compliance for AI refers to meeting the requirements of the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation when deploying AI agents that process customer data. For any organization serving EU customers — or handling EU residents' data — GDPR is not optional. It governs how personal data is collected, processed, stored, and deleted in AI-driven customer interactions.

AI customer service creates specific GDPR challenges that traditional software does not. Large language models process conversational data that often contains personally identifiable information: names, addresses, order numbers, payment references, health conditions, account details. Lawful basis for processing
